I’m in the process of writing another book with the working title of The Storyteller. The book’s theme is analogies to help us know God better and understand theological concepts in general. As with my other books, it will be based on previous website posts and sermons. The links below form the original source material which I’m rewriting into a higher quality, readable form. I hope to have the book ready to publish by the end of 2025.

The Storyteller

These six audio messages are from a series called God The Author. They present an analogy to help both believers and non-believer better understand the nature attributes of God. I plan to include more on this subject in the book. (Pardon the audio quality which varies considerably, and I’m not the best speaker.)

God The Author – Part 1 (.mp3 audio)
This part covers how to understand the nature of God using the analogy of an author writing a story. It contains the introduction to the analogy, followed by how the analogy can be used to understand God’s preexistence, His separateness from creation, how He created everything from nothing, His omnipresence, and His omniscience.
God The Author – Part 2 (.mp3 audio)
This part focuses on God’s sovereignty and omnipotence, and how to understand them using the analogy of an author.
God The Author – Part 3 (.mp3 audio)
In this part, we see how we can know our Author by examining the story He has written, of which we are characters.
God The Author – Part 4 (.mp3 audio)
This part answers the question: Why did God write His story? In other words, why did God create everything? What was His purpose in creating you?
God The Author – Part 5 (.mp3 audio)
This part answers the question: How can we know we are in a story God wrote? How can we know our existence is not by random chance?
God The Author – Part 6 (.mp3 audio)
This last part answers the question: What about free will? If we are characters in a story written by God, how can we have free will? Or, if we have free will, how can God be in control of His story?

The Parables of Jesus

These are from a series of messages on the parables of Jesus.

Introduction to the Parables
This presents the purpose for Jesus’ parables and how to understand them. This will be the first part of the book as it also serves as a good introduction to ‘The Storyteller.’
The Sower (Matthew 13:1-23)
This parable presents the key to understanding everything Jesus taught.
The Wheat and the Tares (Matthew 13:24-43)
A parable addressing the question of why you find both true and false believers in the church (and what to do about it).
The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:1-32)
A parable about the joy God has when one sinner repents.
The Laborers in the Vineyard (Matthew 20:1-16)
A parable about the grace of God.
The Leaven of the Pharisees (Matthew 16:5-12)
A parable about the ungodly teachings and ideas that get into our minds.
The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)
A parable about extravagant love shown to an enemy.
The Unforgiving Servant (Matthew 18:21-35)
A parable about paying God’s forgiveness forward.
The Shameless Friend (Luke 11:1-13)
A parable about trusting in God’s good provision.
The Minas (Luke 19:12-27)
A parable about our work for Jesus’ kingdom.
The Pharisee and the Tax Collector (Luke 18:9-14)
A parable about being justified in God’s eyes.
